ABOUT KRYSTA
What do you do with a kid who just comes into this world and loves the stage? God only knows!
From her very beginning, Krysta’s mom and dad will tell you their little girl wanted to perform…to sing for others. And sing she has! With over 200 performances notched into her fifteen-year-old belt, this young artist has already worked her magic on over 40,000 fans at Turner Field with an acapella rendition of The National Anthem that left them standing. And she finished that day with a seventh inning stretch of God Bless America that would put many veteran singers to shame.
A gifted musician by nature, Krysta began her public “career” at the age of seven with an impromptu performance at a local karaoke establishment. From there, her talents landed her in recording studios, and eventually to the more serious honing of her vocal chops under the tutelage of vocal coach, Lisa Rosemond of Jan Smith Studios (Atlanta, GA).
“Our goal from the very beginning was to allow Krysta to be herself in a business that attempts to make young artists become something they’re not. We teach her the skills to stay healthy throughout her career, and the rest is up to her,” says Rosemond. In addition to her ongoing vocal work for six years, Krysta continues to show due diligence in carving her own path by taking on additional studies on keyboard and guitar. Though she enjoys the camaraderie of working with other musicians, Krysta is an accomplished musician and songwriter, and is competent and comfortable to stand alone on a stage.
Most recently, Krysta brought home a win from American Idol’s “Golden Ticket” experience at Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. This, along with her continued worship team participation with the Northpoint Community Church campuses, Heritage Christian Church and a lead vocalist of, the young worship band, Quarters Road, keeps Krysta seeking to raise her own bar of excellence. “If it’s good, and if it’s music, then I’ll sing it!” she says candidly.
And through her bedroom door at night her parents will tell you they may hear a country tune belted out, or a new Christian worship song, or a rocking pop song, and sometimes even a rap-a-thon…after all, she is still a teenager. But she loves it all. Krysta loves music and she continues to define her own. “I don’t sound like all the other female singers out there. Why would I want to sound like everyone else? I have my own style,” she states with confidence.
So, where does she go from here? God only knows! But certainly on a stage somewhere we’ll find Krysta Nick doing what she came into this world to do.
